This weekend we could definitely feel the arrival of summer! I hope you had a nice Father's Day weekend and stayed cool.

This school year is almost over as this is our last week of distance learning. I had a great experience working with your children this school year. We have laughed, played, joked together and learned from each other. I thank you for your effort, hard work and dedication to your child's learning at home. I wish you all a safe and happy summer!

June 15 - June 19

Hello Grade One Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It looks like we have another sunny week coming up :)

As you know, this week you can come to school to pick up your child's belongings. There is a little surprise for each student in a bag :) As I will be at school most of the days in the morning, helping out with retrieving students items, I will not be able to answer your emails. I will be checking my emails in the afternoon. I hope to see some of you at school :)

June 8 - June 12

Hello Grade One families,

I hope you had the chance to be outside, gardening or simply enjoying the fresh air this weekend.

Next few weeks, we will be reviewing the concepts we have taught in class and through distance learning. This week, in math, students will be reviewing 3-D shapes. We have done similar activities in class but the other two Grade One classes have not covered this unit. As a team, we decided to include these activities for all three classes. Practise makes it perfect!

I was at school last week collecting students' belongings from their desks. I was pleasantly surprised how well organized their desks were :) Stepping into the classroom was bittersweet. I was sad seeing the class so empty but it also brought back all the good memories.

Hello Grade One Families,


I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the mix of sunshine and rain. It is hard to believe we are in the first week of June!


As you may already know, during the week of June 15th, you will be able to come to school to pick up your child's belongings. If you have any library books at home, you could return them to school that week. I have a list of checked out books from Mrs. K, our librarian. This week, I will be notifying the families with borrowed library books through email.

Hello Grade One Families,

I hope everybody got outside and enjoyed this beautiful sunny weekend!

With the news of schools being closed for the remainder of this school year, our school board is working on the plan for picking up students' belongings. More information will be provided by Ms. White once it is approved by Ottawa Public Health.

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend and enjoyed the sunny weather. Thank you to all of you for your continued communication, sending the pictures of children and their work. I really enjoy reading their letters to me and seeing them involved in our school challenges. I hope you had a chance to see all the beautiful rocks and birdhouses at the front of our school :)

Hello Grade One Families,

I hope you are all well and had a nice Mother's Day weekend. Let's hope it will get warmer soon!

If you have a chance, you can drive or bike by our school to see the rocks that students painted at the beginning of the school year. The rocks are in the garden at the front of the school. You are welcome to view them or add new painted rocks of your own. If you would like to make a bird feeder for the trees, Ms. White would be happy to hang them on the branches :)

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful sunny weekend we had. There were so many new signs of spring! This week is Catholic Education Week and the theme that we will be focusing on is "Igniting Hope." Our school board is inviting schools, staff and families to reach out to those around them with a message of hope. You will find more information in the link provided in our At Home Learning.
