Hello Grade One families,
Welcome to a new week! I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the warmer weather outside :)
It's hard to believe we are in the last week of April! We will continue with distance learning through the month of May. Thank you for your continued support in your child's learning and your open communication. As always, feel free to reach out if you need any assistance.

April 20 -24
Hello Grade One families and students,
Welcome to another week of learning! This Wednesday, April 22nd, we celebrate Earth Day. The Earth takes care of everyone and we must also protect it and treat it with love and care.
If you feel your child is not equipped at home with the essential technology for distance learning, please contact the school office Philip@ocsb.ca no later than Wednesday, April 22nd.
If your child is unable to access their account (or doesn't remember the password) please email me directly and I will send you your child's password.
Click on the link below to view At Home Learning activities. The link will also be sent to all student OCSB Gmail accounts.

Some of the learning activities are printable, however, doing the work on a piece of paper is totally fine. The template provided is more as a model. I will be using your child's school account to answer any of your questions or give feedback on any work sent in to me. I will not be assigning any marks but I will be providing feedback to help your child progress and stay motivated :)
Have a nice week!
Message from Mr. Hadskis
Mr. Hadskis had to make a few changes to his links/doc this morning as some were mixed with Madame Candice's. Please refer back to it after 11:00 AM this morning. Thank you.

Dear Grade One Families and students,
I hope you had a nice and blessed Easter holiday. Maybe it was different than what we are used to but I hope that you were able to enjoy this special time with your family.
I hope that the first few weeks of "Distance Learning" have been going well. Allow yourselves lots of flexibility and choose the activities that fit your child's learning at home and your family schedule as best as you can. Please remember that your family's well being should be your most important thing during these challenging times.
I sent an email to students on their OCSB Gmail account last week. If you can, please help your child access their OCSB account in the student portal (firstname.lastname@ocsbstudent.ca, password). If your child is unable to access their account (or doesn't remember the password) please email me directly and I will send you your child's password. Also, if you don't have access to the internet, please reach out to the school office Philip@ocsb.ca or email me directly by the end of this Tuesday.
Please click on the link below to view this week At Home Learning activities. The link was also sent to all student OCSB Gmail accounts.

April 6 - 10
Dear families and students, Yesterday was Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. Holy Week is the last week of the 40 days of Lent. We remember Jesus and the sacrifice he made for us. I hope you are all keeping well, staying positive and staying connected with family and friends. For everyone who is working hard each day to keep us safe, healthy, deliver food and keep us comfortable in our houses in many different ways, you have my deepest respect and a BIG thank you. I pray for continued health and safety for all of you and your loved ones. |
Our distance education learning will continue with the outline of activities/resources
being posted every Monday of the week. Please see the link below from the Grade One team. For French, refer to Mr. Hadskis' activities and resources. |
